Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 7, 2026

Limits is a macOS menu bar app that shows how much you have left on your Claude and ChatGPT usage limits. This page describes exactly what data the app touches, and where it lives.

01

What Limits reads

Limits reads usage percentages and reset times from your Claude and/or ChatGPT account, using the same logged-in session your browser would use. Its usage requests read usage figures and account information needed to retrieve them; they do not request conversation content. Signing in creates an authenticated session with the provider, rather than a separate read-only account permission.

02

What Limits sends

Limits requests usage data from Claude and ChatGPT. Signing in also loads the provider’s authentication pages and the services those pages use. Limits has no backend of its own and adds no analytics or advertising SDKs.

Threshold notifications are purely local (macOS UserNotifications) — not push notifications, and no data travels through them.

03

Where it's stored

Limits runs inside the macOS App Sandbox. WebKit manages its sign-in sessions in separate website data stores for Claude and ChatGPT. These are stores used by Limits, not your Safari browsing session.

If you turn off "remember sign-ins" in the app, your login is kept in memory only and disappears when Limits closes. The app itself stores only display settings — refresh interval, the provider chosen for the menu bar, and appearance — never usage data, tokens, or account identifiers.

04

Deleting your data

Before uninstalling, use Disconnect for both Claude and ChatGPT in Limits. This clears the corresponding provider website data from the app’s active WebKit stores. You can then quit and remove the app. Moving the app to the Trash does not guarantee removal of all preferences or stored website data. For help with remaining local data, contact support@nocode23.com.

05

Children's privacy

Limits is a developer utility, not directed at children, and does not knowingly collect data from children.
